This was totally rushed, yet it came out pretty good. Really don't understand arty abilities sometimes.

This is the design for the food stall in the area. Some ruins converted to be used as a kitchen at the base camp was the idea. I made a model of this a while back (and I'll upload decent photos of all the models I made once they are sorted out), but because everything in my portfolio is drawn, I figured I couldn't use the and would have to draw it to keep consistancy.

Entrance to the roller coaster queue in the middle, primate exhibit to the right and on the far left you can see some of the viewing area. I think the trees came out well in this but I was a little sloppy with the bricks.

I've been a bit lethargic of recent with regard to art. It's at that boring stage of my Uni project when there is no time for more exciting development of the concept, just need to finish images and present them in a portfolio. Yawn.

Here's a section of a photoshop paint I've been working on of the ride entrance, primate enclosure, viewing platform and such.

And here's the "finished" entrance design sans foliage. Finished this a while ago but seemed pointless to just post it on it's own when It's barely changed since the last post.

Thursday 7 April 2011

This is what I've been working on today, a detailed entrance design image, until photoshop decided to play up. Looks a bit Dark Forest at Alton... Hm, might be the colours? might have to be careful of that.

And these are storyboard images, out of sequence for the time being. The storyboard is serving two purposes now, as it's become a good way for me to keep track of what makes clear sense and what needs further explanation or consideration.

We had to do a self portrait for the cover of the catalogue for our Uni show.

I hate drawing people's faces and I hate drawing mine even more, so here's what my hair was doing this morning.

EDIT: After telling us all to do this horrible project and "upload the images to our blogs", lecturers turned round and said that no one bothered to do it in class. That's massively confusing since I remember many portraits from classmates coming up on my blogfeed. Another example of lecturers saying one thing and not following it up. They wanted us to e-mail the pictures, not blog them. Why not SAY that then?

The treasure room... after leaving the station, the car would enter this room and slowly move forward before being stopped by the glare of the statues. Then you make your escape forwards into the pitch blackness.

I need to tidy up the edges on this so I don't have to crop it so tightly, and it perhaps needs lightening up. But until I see how the uni printer prints it, it's a bit pointless fussing over it. So for now, I declare it done. Yay!

Sunday 3 April 2011

Just working on sketches for the storyboard.

And yeeeeeeeeeah, old blog header back. The new one was shit, wasn't it.

Saturday 2 April 2011

Logo rough, the textures and such need doing properly. In case I didn't mention before, I hate the pen tool. So much. So. So. So much. Might handwrite the text.
Here's the map in a more finished state, but I need to sort out the track as it's very pixelated and just pulled out of No Limits coaster simulator.

Friday 1 April 2011

I hate working with vector stuff. I've got no visual sense with it and I find it tedious and frustrating. Pen tool can go DIE. As can No Limits. So bad with anything like that...

Still, needed to create some sort of layout/map, no matter how rough, inaccurate and all round crap. So here is is so far. Currently the queue line goes to NOWHERE. Ha.
